Fill in the missing piece.

Donate before June 30 and help connect children with what matters most to them - their families.

How much does a child miss when they are stuck in hospital?

When a child’s illness or injury lands them in hospital, they miss out on more than just school or play - they miss the comfort and support of home. Your donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland helps provide a 'home-away-from-home' for families, ensuring they can stay close during their child's treatment.

Help us put a child’s life back together.

For ill and injured children like Oliver, the hardest part about being in hospital isn't the pain - it’s missing the people you rely on to make you feel better.

At the age of two, Oliver was diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia - T Cell ALL Leukemia with a genetic mutation - the 28th known case in the world. The news devastated his parents, Nicholas and Jayde, but even more heartbreaking was the reaction of his brother Mason, who simply couldn’t understand why his little brother couldn’t play with him anymore - why his days were now spent in hospital instead on the playground

Little Oliver endured weekly chemotherapy and lumbar punctures, and had a PICC line inserted to faciliate his ongoing treatment.

Oliver’s cancer turned out to be resistant to chemotherapy. It was blood cells donated by his big brother Mason that turned out to be ‘the missing piece’ in Oliver’s treatment, ultimatey saving his life.

Through it all, thanks to supporters like you, Oliver’s parents Nicholas and Jayde have been able to stay by his side.

Every night, RMHC SEQ offers families like Oliver’s a place to rest, recharge, and find comfort, just steps away from the hospital. With your support, we can continue to offer:

Accommodation: Central, safe and comfortable rooms for families. All our SEQ Houses include communal kitchens, living and play spaces as well as basic pantry supplies, linen, towels and laundry facilities.

Education: The Ronald McDonald Education Program provides students who are behind in schooling as a result of illness or injury with one-on-one tutorials with experienced teachers that are tailored to the student’s individual needs.

Family Rooms: Welcoming spaces where families can take time out from the clinical environment of the wards to rest, reconnect and relax

When you donate to Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland, you’re helping to connect children with the things that matter most - the chance to keep playing, keep learning and keep having their families close.

"Without the support and assistance we have been offered I really don’t know how we would have been able to keep it together. We are so grateful to have your support through this difficult time."

 — Nicholas and Jayde, Oliver’s parents.
