We're fundraising for Ronald McDonald House Charities

The Blood on the Road cycling team was formed by Stephen, John (Cat) and Huyen some 15 years ago. Aiming to raise money for charities, we first rode the Murray to Moyne in 2009, and have continued to use this banner riding several week-long events over the years raising money for other foundations, including the Leukemia and Myeloma foundations. We are inclusive and on this occasion, have recruited Annette and Bernice on this extremely "tough" cycling event.

Below are blurbs from each members:

Annette - I'm excited and grateful to be able to participate in this challenging bike ride and help to raise money for such an important cause. I work as in medical research and know the impact of diagnosis and treatment of serious disease has on families especially when the patient is a child. As a mother I know that anything we an do to support families I these stressful times is of great value.

Bernice - Hi, This has been a very tough and very rewarding cycling journey for me. I am grateful for this opportunity to help raise money for Ronald McDonald house - to help these families struggling to stay together during their time of need. Pls donate to help us support them.

Huyen - having looked after people/patients with chronic haematological illnesses for almost 25 years, I take this opportunity to undertake this arduous and tough cycling event to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities so that they support seriously ill and injured children and their families.

John - A retired haematologist, cancer survivor, a cycling fanatic, I revel in opportunities to raise money for important charities that helps to make a difference in supporting patients and families during treatment of serious diseases.

Stephen - This is not the first time that I have asked for a donation to healthcare related charity. While the requests are generally centred around some crazy cycling related challenge, this is for a bloody good cause! Outcomes for children with cancer and other serious illnesses continue to improve but that doesn't negate the need for us to support the families who are fellow travellers on the medical treatment journey.
